How do you take apart a tail light to clean and restore? Had an old one, tried to very carefully pop out the lens but cracked a tab. I want to take them apart to clean, maybe repaint silver inside, polish clean black housings. Anyone ever do this? thinking about warming them up to see if the housing is able to be more pliable.

I don't know if any but am very curious on it as well. My right reverse light has a burnt mark I can't reach to clean. Been driving me nuts for years and haven't broke down to buy a new one. Let us know what ya find out.

I’ve got a bunch of these available if you want one to try and disassemble or just replace a burnt one. $20 each without the stainless trim ring. + shipping.
