New to the forum, but long time E-Body fan and diehard Mopar man. Got my first E-body in 1973 - a 1970 Barracuda - and had a couple others. Have one that's been with me since 1975, a '70 Cuda that is a drag car soon to be restored. Daily driver is a 2012 Challenger SRT8 stick car.......yeah, I know it's not an E-body, but it's the closest thing I could get in modern times!

I missed on a 74 yellow 360 long ago, still regret it. Look forward to seeing your progress.

Thanks for the welcomes!
Here is the 'Cuda after having been in storage for 12 years. Bringing it home was almost like a "barn find" after all those years hahaha. If it looks retro that's because it is! It hasn't been raced since the mid-1990s since I have a Plymouth Arrow I'm actively racing. Once it was home went through the carb, fresh oil and race gas, and fired it up. Sounded mean as ever! It's a 340 4-speed car that ran 11.0s @122 in its heyday.

Are you looking to restore back to stock? What are you planning?

I'm not completely sure.... I can make a strong argument for going back to stock, namely that the VIN is BS23J0B and I have both the numbers matching block and trans. Neither were used for racing because the trans is the close ratio with 2.47 first gear, not best for drag racing, and the race short block is a '69 340. The T/A heads are on the race engine though and have been ported. But the rear wheel openings were enlarged (not tubbed) and some oddball body parts removed (like trunk hinge mechanism, rear seat window regulators, original wiring, exhaust manifolds, etc.). I have some of that stuff including the 6 pack and air cleaner, but who knew when this car was built for racing in the early 1980s that those things would be worth a fortune? Never had the original hood (I knew both previous owners and they had raced the car too), but the sheet metal is all really straight and windows the original glass.

Welcome , Wow a JOB car raced forever !!
It has a very interesting history as is , once restored it will disappear as just 1 of 2600 AARs ! It is great that you ept the car along with most of the original piece for the car .
Tough call what to do with it now for sure !
