For the record, I made one of these from a HF paint stirrer like 3 years ago, for my son. It's been used thrice, and the rod shows it's twisted almost half a turn. is China steel (presuming the HF stirrer is China steel) softer? Steel is steel, right?Great idea, if you have time, wait for HF sale and get 1 for $5.

That and the fact that I'm 71 years old now is why I don't work on the new cars we own! I got the bright idea to repack the wheel bearings and inspect the brakes on my tandem axle 5th wheel RV a couple of years ago. I had to use a 20 ton bottle jack and do one wheel at a time, and it took me two days!The good thing about our old cars is that you didn't need any special tools to work on them. On the newer cars every time I go to work on them I have to buy a new tool. The problem is where did I put that special tool to get the job done. I spend more time looking for the tool then doing the job.
