My car needs a starter and I am planning headers so I know I want a mini-starter....

I seem to remember seeing a post a while back saying that the newer 318 engine starters were smaller.....

Or is the Mopar Performance mini starter the only way to go?

Any other info I need to know when buying the starter?

What do you guys think of this one?

Thanks!

I wass gonna just pick up a used starter from a 89-94 dodge truck with a v8...but the junkyard here wants $40. And no warranty because I am using it the cuda.

Might as well just buy new at that point.

Just put the same starter on my 528 hemi thursday. I have TTI HEADERS and was able to install it without removing them. My robbmac starter shaft broke.
Motor started right up. seems to have plenty of power. Have only had it for 3 days, so cannot say anything about long term.

Well, I ended up getting mine from DB Electrical.

STAY AWY FROM THEM!

I paid less for mine from them...$80 or so as I recall.....and it lasted 15 months (4-5 months of that was winter/storage mind you).....

I contacted them and they told me "sorry, its past the 1 year warranty".

So I bought a Remy reman locally for $80 with a lifetime warranty, made in mexico. Plus $35 core charge..not sure if I should try and rebuild mine for a backup or just get my core back.

At least I wont be out ANOTHER $80 though, with the warranty.

NOT PLEASED with DB Electrical at ALL!
