Extra hole between the Ballast Resistor and Regulator. Did a quick check of other E-Bodies online and don't see it. Not sure why I'm just noticing this now.....

1970 Challenger Convertible. Built April 27 1970.

Hoping it's factory, but who knows with Mopar......

Thanks

Does it look like a factory stamped or punched hole or more like someone drilled it by hand? Post a photo if you can so we can see. You know we like pictures here...

I think I can see it in the EV2 340 engine bay in the last picture looks like it is for a wiring support. I will check my cars and get back to you.

It is for the black loop wire strap. Wiper fluid hose and heater control go through it among other things. My non AC cars have it plugged but I don't think its original. My AC cars do have the black loop. These pictures are of two 70's and a 71 form before they were touched.

This hole is getting interesting my 70 Challenger has air conditioning is a Hamtramck late build (5/70) car and my 70 Cuda also Hamtramck early build (9/69) 440-6 so no air conditioner and no hole in either car, no dimple, no plug nothing is it an LA plant thing? Doubleyellow that hole is in that orange car, that green car and your car, I think it is original I wouldn't fill it in.

Interesting.....I see it in the green car and I vaguely remember that black wire loop.......my car is non-A/C, but maybe they were trying to use up A/C cowls that week !!

Checked my two 71 Challengers, one a small block and one a big block, both have that same upper hole for the black wire loom strap. Both non AC and not verts, made in Hamtramck.

And the interesting thing is they do not have the lower hole where you have your black strap.

I thought it went in one of the bulkhead terminal blocks.
